On a related note, there are also something called Fields that I can create and apply to either all levels or those of only a particular Category. The "Caption" box, for example, is a special Field that was added by @NeoCHI at the beginning of the website creation and ends up being displayed to the right of the Comments and Information tabs below a card image on the level page (if used like @Frenzies did here). As an uploader of a level, you can add stuff to the Caption box via the Edit Tags and Fields tab below the card image (that only the uploader can see).

I can create the following Field types:
    • Single-line text box
    • Multi-line text box
    • Rich text box
    • Drop down selection
    • Radio Buttons
    • Check Boxes
    • Multiple-choice drop down selection
For now, I don't have any ideas on what we could add to levels placed in the Tutorials category.

Note that these Fields can be located in the following locations on the Level page:
    • Below Media
    • Below Information
    • Extra Information Tab
    • New Tab
And I can restrict the Fields to certain items, characters, etc.

If anyone as any ideas on how to improve the Tutorials category (or the site) in any way, please let us know.

@nGord - Thanks, the Fields feature is interesting; but as you say, it doesn't seem to offer much value for tutorials.

Also, the Categories feature doesn't meet my expectations - i was hoping to be able to apply a category to a level that is already uploaded..
    :(

However! On that note, maybe we could start using tags more seriously. If I'm not mistaken, they can be applied post publication..? I'm just a bit confused about how they work in this site: Are they user-level, meaning each user can tag a card differently to the way any other user does? Or are they author-level, where the author/uploader determines the tag and everyone sees that? Or admin-level, where only a nominated user can apply tags for everyone to see? Or is it some combination of the above?

Yes, use of tags would be phenomenal, but there are two problems with them:

    1. They are dependent on the uploader (/author /designer) to set them using again the Edit Tags and Fields tab after uploading the level; and

    2. Keeping the use/understanding of them consistent across all members and levels.

That being said, we could do a better job of educating people and updating the How_to_Share_a_Mekorama_Level document. I had originally considered adding a section specifically on tags (beyond the short entry on page 8), but realized how much effort would have to go in to coming up with even a base set of suggested tags and examples for them. It also seems that not many people care to read the master documents. :( :( :(

Oh, and there is one exception, Moderators (which I am not) can apparently edit the tags of other member's levels.

And for the sake of completeness, even though I'm sure you know, there is one big advantage of tags being that they are also listed on the left-hand menu on the Levels listing page. The more popular ones are in a larger font, and each is clickable to get a filtered result of all levels having that tag.
