The rating system is inherently flawed. Author X makes a level where one needs to think thru an involved process while Author Y makes a three tap winner. Both get the same rating because it is personal preference - sounds flawed.
Thanks for asking. At first thought I didn't like the idea as it goes against how most people are raised. We go to school and get graded on how we perform. This is designed to push us to be as good as possible. Removing the rating system would take away a voice to encourage improvement but if the system is basically flawed, it could be a better way to do business.
I don't make levels to get a rating but to see the player's feedback on the level. Although, I always aspire to make a level of 5 stars, I would hope that having no rating doesn't lower the quality of levels overall.
I'm not a fan of that idea for several reasons. 1. Your opinion of judicious and others could vary widely. 2. If the group will be determining the rating of all levels then that group must play all and rate all as all authors would like their score.
3. The ratings would also need to be to the same standard otherwise the score means nothing or we are no better off. 4. Some hard levels never receive a rating for obvious reasons, this group will need to score it. If the rating system is staying, then please leave it as is.
