Dice v1.71

Find a way to the top and assemble the dice before you complete the level

Dice v1.71
DeepT, Feb 28, 2020
    • DeepT
The level is an interlinked puzzle of multiple stages. Objective is to move through each stage, get to the top, close the flaps to make the "Dice", and step on the finish block.

No tricks are required and the final move to get to the top is unconventional but logical. Top face may obstruct viewing at times, it is safe to rotate it out of the way.

There will be roadblocks along the way, where the puzzle would be unsolvable if wrong moves were made. Challenging at first, easy if you know the way.

      Hints and Solution
Stages are labelled as "Faces" that correspond to the numbers on each face of the dice. The stone part in the middle is labelled as "Base". "Zapbots" are numbered as to where they are located.

To get through Face4, need to get rid of ball on the motor, pass Zapbot4.

      Face4 Solution:
      - Slide the top vertical dragger to up position to reveal a hole beneath
      - (Roadblock5 marker)
      - Lift Face5 very lightly to roll ball forward towards the base
      - Wait for Zapbot4 approach the ball and lift Face4 lightly to make Zapbot4 nudge ball into hole
      - Slide starting block dragger forward
      - Walk onto Face4, avoid Zapbot4
      - Stand next to the metal pillar on Face4
      - Done

To get through Face2, need to drop into ditch, raise Bbot onto Face2, send Zapbot2 away.

      Face2 Solution:
      - Stand next to the metal pillar on Face4, facing the stone pillar on the Base
      - Wait for Zapbot4 to step on stone Base, lift Face4 to shove Bbot onto stone Base
      - (Roadblock3 Marker)
      - Slide dragger with Zapbot2 away from Bbot, making space for ball
      - While Zapbot2 is on dragger, lift Face2 slightly to roll ball into the ditch
      - Stand next to the ball in the ditch
      - While Zapbot2 is off the dragger on the stair, use dragger to squeeze ball under Bbot
      - Bbot will be raised to main level
      - Walk to the near corner of Face2 next to the motor
      - Slide dragger towards Zapbot2, let him hop on dragger, then slide dragger to the ball and let Zapbot2 walk away
      - Walk to the other side of Face2, then to the Base, stand on the stair going up
      - Done

Zapbot3 is patrolling Face3 and Base, not possible to run pass him and avoid being zapped. Need to find a way to lead Zapbot3 away.

      Face3 Hints:
Standing on the ascending stair on Base, there should be one ball hidden on the left behind the stone ramp, otherwise need to restart.
If the hidden ball is pushed from Face3 side, the ball will roll down to Face4, not helpful. The ball needs to be pushed from Face4 side, while on stone pillar.
      - Observe path of ball
      - Timing is essential
      Face3 Solution:
      - At the ascending stair, pull back the dragger in front of Bbot, revealing a step beneath where hopefully the hidden ball will be wedged there when pushed
      - Need to make your way back to stone pillar on Base (Roadblock5 Marker)
      - Down the stair, stand in safe lower corner of Face2
      - Trap Zapbot2 on dragger, pull dragger away from ball in ditch
      - Walk on ball to get back to Face4, then shove Bbot on dragger next to stone pillar
      - Raise dragger so Bbot is ready to walk onto stone pillar on Base
      - Time your move to push ball when Zapbot3 is approaching his turn around point below the hidden ball
      - If the ball is pushed at the correct moment, it will drop down, blocked by Zapbot3, roll sideways onto the previously revealed step, and stay wedged there
      - Use the dragger to shoot this ball across, filling in the bottom hole on Face3
      - Zapbot3 will now happily scroll to the fence on Face3
      - Move back onto Face2, then up the stair, stand on the dragger
      - Pull dragger back, let Bbot drop down
      - Walk to the stone hinge of Face3
      - Done

Drop into the pit at the Base and find a way up, move to top corner of Face5, appears to be a dead end.

      Face5 Hints:
Standing on the stone hinge, there should still be a ball on Face5 and you should see the zapper in the pit. If the ball has dropped into the pit and dragger inside pit is stuck, need to restart.

At the very beginning of level, when need to lift Face5 (Roadblock5 Marker), do so very gently so this ball stays on the stone hinge.

      - Note where Zapbot3 is when lifting Face3
      - Time to use the ball overhead
      Face5 Solution:
      - Slide dragger in the pit over underwater zapper revealing hole
      - Lift Face5 to roll ball over dragger into the hole
      - Wait for Zapbot3 to walk behind metal pillar, Lift Face3 to slide Bbot into pit
      - Walk onto the ball
      - Slide dragger to squeeze Bbot upward
      - Silde dragger over zapper
      - Shoot overhead ball to fill hole on Face5
      - Walk to top corner on Face5 near fence
      - Done

Has gone a full circle, the end is so close. It looks like a dead end, but is it? Figure out the final move to Face1.

      Face1 Hints:
The only part hasn't been used is the vertical dragger and it's the only mechanism that can reach the top.

      - The path is there, just can't walk on it now
      - The stone ledge is there for a reason
      - Once is not enough
      Face1 Solution:
      - Pull top vertical dragger to down position
      - Rotate top cover out of the way
      - Stand on top corner of Face5 near fence
      - Lift Face5 very very slowly to full upright position, might need to pause at times letting Bbot adjust footing.
      - Bbot will try balance himself and move onto the edge of Face5
      - Walk to the other end of the top edge
      - Looks like another dead end, no where to go
      - Pull Face5 very very slowly to full horizontal position
      - Bbot will now stand at the isolated corner of Face5, near the metal half pillar, only a block away from starting block
      - Stand next to the metal half pillar
      - Lift Face5 to full upright position again
      - This time Bbot can climb onto the stone ledge and stay there
      - Pull Face5 down to horizontal position
      - Walk onto the vertical dragger
      - Rotate top cover, don't brush Bbot off
      - Rise to the top and step on Face1
      - Try close up the Dice before stepping on Finish!
      - Pull vertical dragger back down
      - Close Face3, then Face2
      - Rotate Face1 slowly to fit
      - Close Face4, then Face5
      - Rotate to see how everything fits together
      - Step on Finish
      - Done

Now that you have gone through the level, next time you can solve roadblocks at earlier stages of the level. Much easier when you know the way.

Hope you like the level. Thanks for playing!

I assume no tricks are required?
    • DeepT
@Meko Guy No tricks are required. In fact, I block tricks and shortcuts by design. The last twist may be considered a "trick", but it's the only logical "move".
    • Meko Guy
@DeepT - Thanks for the reply - I had not refreshed my web page and didn't see your comment.

I gave up as I seen no way to get there. I see one lift that goes to the top but I can't see the way to that lift. Between the noisy mechanisms and the balls / zappers getting in the way and making more noise - it was too tedious to continue. Maybe less is more as busy levels are hard to get going with all the options.
    • DeepT
@Meko Guy The level is designed to be "one way". So, once you get to Face5, there is no way back, the solution has to be there. Thanks for your comment about being too tedious. It is, in a way. Each face is built as a mini puzzle. Tackle it a bit at a time and come back to it when you have time to kill.

      wow...
im amazed at how futuristic this level is.
but i havnt yet give a rate before i finish this.

On first opening it’s not obvious what the gameplay is so i will have to spend longer. However i have a reliable shortcut win.

I am back here momentarily, grabbing some new levels to play and see if anyone has solved this...

I will try to post a solution in these few days, not sure when I will be back next time.
    • DeepT
@Meko Guy @ridgerunner Hey guys, posted a solution for my level after being away for 3 years. You guys probably only need to read Face5 and Face1 part. Have fun!
