Battle! Forum Strategy Game

Just trying to increase the sense of community here so here's a new game!

1. There are teams of up to 5 players each. (5 is the max # of people I can invite to conversation at once.)
2. Each team has 1 captain. The other players on the team are soldiers.
3. Each captain has 20 HP.
4. Each soldier has 10 HP.
5. Everyone starts with 1 strength and 1 defense.
6. Each round allows each soldier 1 turn. Captains get 2 turns.
7. On every turn, a soldier can train, attack, or defend. Captains can also choose to heal a soldier.
8. If a player chooses to train, he/she gets to increase their attack OR defend by 1 point. Max for either stat is 5.
9. If a player chooses to attack, he/she can attack any player on another team and that player's hp will go down according to the attacking player's strength stat.
10. If player chooses to defend, he/she can defend his/herself AND another soldier or their captain. Defending decreases any attacks by an enemy according to the defending player's defense stat.
11. If the captain chooses to heal, he/she can raise the HP of any soldier by 2. If both of the captain’s moves are healings, then the second healing only raises the HP by 1. The captain cannot heal his/herself.
12. If a soldier is reduced to 0 HP, he/she is eliminated until the end of the game.
13. If a captain is reduced to 0 HP, his/her team is eliminated from the game.
14. I will invite members of each team to a separate private chat where the team can discuss strategy and plan for the next move. After the moves are decided for each team, I will post the results.
15. New players may not join mid-game, however, to encourage participation, spectators may “cheer” for either team. If 3 spectators in a row “cheer” for the same team without being interrupted by a member of another team, every player on that team gains 1 HP up to the max for their player type. (10 for soldiers, 20 for captains)
16. Last team standing wins!

Let me know below if you are interested or if my rules are too complicated (they probably are). Also, let me know if you are interested in being captain or not. The teams will vote on their captain, but I need to make sure there are people interested in being captain on every team.

We need at least 4 more people I think. We could make it work with just 2 more, but 2 person teams would not be as fun. I could tag everyone I can think of, but I don't want to be spammy...

 

Simultaneously, that's how the defend works. If you attack me, but I defend on the same turn, then your attack has less effect or no effect depending on your stats.
Btw, by all means ask any questions if something doesn't make sense. I kind of just made this up so you may have thought of something I didn't.

 

The captain decides who to heal and which would be 2HP and which would be 1HP. I wanted a healing option, but I didn't want it to be too powerful so that's why the second healing only heals half as much. Does that answer your question?

 

How would you all feel about starting with just 4? I'm going on vacay next week and won't be around to keep score so we need to do it by then. Maybe it will be fun and others will want to join lol.
