How to add images and links to posts in the forum?

For a link, use the button that looks like a chain (if you select some text first, people who click on that text will be taken to the link; if you don't select text first, the link will be shown in the post):


For an image, upload the image file first, then use the Thumbnail or the Full Image button to put the image in your forum post:

What crashes? Are you talking about the web browser on your phone?

 

It works fine on my android phone and ios tablet. If your browser is crashing, that sounds like a browser issue. You could try another browser.
