Out in the Cold

(fixed that ball) P has gone into hibernation, but B needs his help in fixing the furnace. (autopilot drop needed)

Fixed that one ball, made some cosmetic changes... the wedge under that ball was facing toward the metal half pillar, so the ball wasn't sitting on it squarely. Thanks to everyone who played the previous version.

I tried to make this as stable as possible, but the new 'predictive' tapping changes the game behaviours, so certain moves (B on P, P turns a corner on a ball with a wedge underneath) aren't as stable as they used to be.

"Out in the Cold" is a song from the rockers Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, from their 1991 album "Into the Great Wide Open".
Petty (rest his soul) had a lot of hits over the years, but this has always been my favorite because it kicks serious backside... the opening drums and guitar will grab you every time.

@D.S.Masters - I forgot to mention on the last version - the QR code didn't read again until I zoomed in. This one is the same.

I'll go with the same score as last time even though I got it on my 1st attempt but in fact it was my 6th attempt if you count the 1st ones. The stack was rock solid so others shouldn't have any issues. Thanks for sharing

Definitely sneakier than usual and i did like the gameplay for getting the ball that ends up last before winblock. I too had trouble in version one with penultimate ball but i solved that by the usual method of repeated tapping on P to prevent the fall. But why is the budgeable there? It serves no purpose in my win.

Am I doing something wrong,? I get all the balls in (I think) the right places. But every time P walks over the balls by the finish, B falls off, :(!

It's one ball that sits very low in its hole. P will cross it but he's wobbly afterwards.

@Jom , @D.S.Masters has already fixed this problem in his revised card. I've just played both old and new versions.

I actually find this level easier than your adventure-feels B-only level for I can see the path right away.

      Thanks for the fix!

I like the appearing P and the autopilot fall. They add a pinch of suspense to the gameplay.

@Meko Guy Yeah, apparently that's something else they're working on - the QR code scanner or creater or whatever.

@ridgerunner That's basically just to block that one path, enforcing a bit of ball order.
    • D.S.Masters
@Jom Sounds like you're playing the previous version - this one fixes that.

@P_simorf Thanks, I didn't notice it wasn't the same card. I will try the new one.;).
    • D.S.Masters
@P_simorf As usual with my levels, I'll start with a basic idea - in this case, the vertical mech that raises P up - and I'll build from there.

    • D.S.Masters
@Meko Guy The stack needed some tweaking throughout the build because of that bug in the fuzzy tapping... in that stone pillar / stair pairing at that corner, if the pillar is vertical, then P tilts and B falls off. Same reason for the lift that holds P while B gets on - the bug apparently misjudges the height of the R bots, so until they fix it, you can no longer get B on a moving P with one easy tap.

That's great,:rotf::rotf:! Fun to puzzle out the correct order, and I loved that moment when P appeared like a ballerina on a musical box, ;):D.

I found the 'fuzzy tapping' was a nuisance when B needed to get on P. It was good the lift was there so I could hold P turning on the spot while I pursuaded B to climb aboard. I do hope that will get fixed soon.
