A former colleague of mine once gave me this little puzzle. Three identical pieces had to be put together in a 3x3 cube (with 1x1 holes as one would soon find out). I really liked the puzzle. It felt so doable but was quite hard to figure out. The puzzle doesn't work in Mekorama, but I implemented a reversed version.

In the cage, you see the finished 3x3 cube. It's shape can be made from three identical pieces. On the perimiter of the level you see five candidate shapes for these pieces. For which of these five shapes, can you have three, to make the 3x3 cube? Guess wrong, and you die. As the name suggests, you only get one attempt to have properly won this level. (It's fine to put it away and come back later, but you can have only one attempt at a win block.)

You can also just guess and be done in like 30s. Congratulation on having achieved nothing.

Can't rate this one as there is no game play. Trial and error, I got it on my third attempt...

EDIT - Forgot to mention that my thinking was there was going to be hidden zappers in all the stairs to the win and I would need to find another way to get onto the win but that wasn't the case

So B just tries each win block until he wins? I got zapped first time then won on my second attempt. A pleasing design which you clearly have taken time over, but not much gameplay to be able to rate it.

      I succeeded on the 4th try:oops:.
I thought like @Meko Guy, (about zappers).
The design and idea is great:thumbsup:, but... There is almost no gameplay, so "like" from me.;)

In Block builder's comment above, he says the point is to figure out the puzzle so you can choose the proper win on the first try.

@cimarronline Only people with dead B's in their avatar seem to understand.... ironically.... :rotf:

Ha ha, I liked the little cube surprise. If that was a timer, I failed. But I did manage to win on my first try. It took me a long time to try to visualize the pieces in different orientations. (And I liked that you have no star on the win--I prefer the way the original win block looked.)

p.s. It seems the puzzle can be recreated with mekorama. I solved it in the app, but I only recorded the result:

Motors like that with the draggables allow the piece to be lifted.

@cimarronline I have always loved puzzles like the one you describe. I would love to play it - I mean a real puzzle that you can hold in your hands. I love it very much.
It is a pity that in mekorama it is impossible to make such a puzzle - so that you can twist and assemble and disassemble. I think there are other programs in which this is possible.

As for this level - to be honest, I could not guess the right way. I think I have a good 3D imagination. But I could not twist and connect such curved elements in my thoughts. It's hard to imagine it:confused:. Therefore, I acted differently - I first found the correct element (by trial and error - I found it on the second attempt). After I found the correct element, I mentally built a cube out of it. It matched your cube.

Cool design. And I wanted to mention a very good Mechanism of time - the one hidden at the bottom.

      By the way,
a cool cheat with a red brick - I liked this cheat. I got it right on the second try

@cimarronline Nice, looks good. But like @Denis Nazin said, you can't make a gameplay out of that. And I really wanted to do something with this puzzle. The timer thing is not a fail-timer. It's more of a "oh, you're still struggling (gosh...), let me make the cube a bit easier to see." :D

And yes I needed no star on any win, so there's a hidden one that has the star. Actually, it's right under B's starting position. There is also an R underground that walks 5/4ths of a full square before activating a release mechanism.

@Denis Nazin Yes, puzzels like that are great fun, and Mekorama is not the best for it. I know the 3D visualization required for this level is rather extreme. I appreciate you took on the question!

Next to the red brick, all the flags also point to that one. And there's a security camera on the cage structure looking at that one. All red herrings. Mhuhaha. :sneaky:

I like the puzzle you mean, it looks very interesting and challenging. but like you said it doesn't work in mekorama, so i can only play it
