Stairs were in case B fell. I dislike levels where someone has to reset to start over.

Mill is decoration.

This actually came before house of secrets. House was an exploration of a different way of screening the method in a small structure, which is harder than putting such on two different sides of, say, a large cube. I also have considered toothed gearing as an exploration of different clockwork mechanisms.
