Jungle Book

Medium to difficult timing level. No tricks. Zappers. Timing errors usually result in restart. B must run the gauntlet of lethal Droids and mischievous Monkeys to collect Jungle fruits.

Mowgli B must undertake a perilous journey through the Jungle to collect hard to find Jungle Fruit. He is hindered all the way by homicidal Droids and mischievous Monkeys.

Timing is everything in this level and mistakes will generally require a restart. Tested on a Galaxy Tab A only, so not sure how the interrupt cycle on other devices will affect timing.

      General advice and cryptic clues.

Study the interaction pattern between zappers and monkeys before moving.
Identify in advance a safe haven to aim for.
Sometimes in life it is necessary to take a step back to go forward safely.
Military stategy often advocates bypassing a risky objective to take an easier more distant prize, then returning to mop up to complete the campaign.

Been looking after my grandson for three nights. Four viewings of Ice Age the Meltdown.

Great looking level and these swinging apes don’t take any prisoners.

Brilliant! I never cease to be amazed at your imagination! Great idea with monkeys that also move! Super. The gameplay is difficult. The beginning is difficult to pass because there are two time limits - monkeys and zappers. It is difficult to calculate the right time. And in addition, trees and vines interfere. But after several restarts, I found the right combination. Thank you, of course 5!

Thank you @ridgerunner, my greyhound analogy comes true yet again, first out of the starting blocks. I appreciate the very generous rating and kind comments. Rumour has it that the apes trained in Barlinnie. Thank you for playing, it's a great incentive to keep designing.

Thank you @Denis Nazin for very generous rating and some kind and constructive comments. I am particularly interested in your assessment of level of difficulty, coming from such an experienced player/designer. This is an area I find very hard to judge and I need to see if I can edit the description.
I accepted that restarts were going to be required for most players till practice with the timing kicked in. I know lots of Mekorama players hate restarts but I think this is an inevitable feature of an end to end arcade style game. I added foliage for atmosphere and to add a layer of complexity. May have overdone it.
      Thanks for playing and persevering.

Many thanks @Labyrenight for playing and for a very generous rating. Delighted to see you publishing levels again as well as passing on the benefit of all of your research.

The design is superb, :rotf::rotf::rotf:. I can watch those monkeys for ages. I am very bad at timing, so I can't get past but I just love watching. ;):D:D.

Wow! the design is so, so realistic that you have made me feel like I am in a jungle!! pure Meko-art!! & the gameplay was fun too! thanks for sharing @MekoMole ;)

Thank you very much @Jom for playing and for very kind comments. I too am not an accomplished game player but having designed and built the level know most of the techniques which enables me to complete possibly 3 out of 4 times. The second star is difficult but could be bypassed to progress in the game. My technique is to wait till the zapper is moving away from B and then to wait further till the feet of the monkey pass the bottom of the arc. I appreciate you taking time out to comment despite being blocked from completing. A bit of harmless fun and glad ýou enjoyed it.

Thanks @delator77 for your very generous comments and rating. I am always apprehensive that I concentrate too much on design over gameplay. That you found it fun is music to my ears. I have been working on a new level based on the Iberian Peninsula, I hesitate to say Spain to a native Basque, featuring Flamenco Dancers and "Dancing Guitars". Hopefully released within the next month or so.

      :p
Kept my heart rate up! Thoughts of restarts for the first section as it seemed to be the trickiest for timing. Very fun and exciting level:cool:
    • MekoMole
Thank you @Sammy 5 for such generous comments and rating. I do try to keep restarts to a minimum but with unruly characters like the apes running amok it's virtually impossible. I'm absolutely delighted you found it fun and exciting, it's a great incentive to keep building.:D
