i like to learn about what this is. What is a not gate? thank u in advance for any1 hu likes to enlighten me. ;)
    • Aleric
@Rohan Kumar OMG, using R is brilliant! A very valuable idea; I'm immediately going to put two NOTs in series! lol
    • Aleric
@Propesyonal It comes basically from electronics; see for example https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverter_(logic_gate)
Other basic gates are the AND, OR and XOR gates, but having a NOT, you can make an OR from an AND and visa versa and a XOR from those. In fact, with just a NOT and an AND (or OR) gate you can build any logic circuit, and thus a computer (if the mekorama world was large enough).

A NOT, or inverter, turns 0 into a 1 and a 1 into a 0. Lets write that using an exclamation mark: output = !input. An AND gate has two inputs, say x and y, and outputs only a 1 when both inputs are a 1 and 0 otherwise. Lets write that as: x & y. A OR gate gives a 1 if at least one of the inputs is a 1, written as say x | y.

      Now note that we can make an OR gate with AND and NOT as follows: x | y = !(!x & !y), while XOR (^) could be: x^y = (!x & y) | (x & !y).

Yay! Finally succeeded in copying Rohans idea and putting two NOT gates in series:

@Aleric That design took me really long to master , but u had to lift entire platform up to make that work in series , ur dedication is commendable. :)

Where are the checkmarks on these? They don't appear to be playable.
    • Aleric
@Rohan Kumar Yes, it took me a long time and many tries. It was, in the end, a very conscious decision to work in layers, with the bottom layer connecting sliders that are one-on-one (identity gate, I guess), then a layer for the sliders, then the walking floor for R, followed by a two blocks high walking space with the pushers and pilars and finally a layer for the sliders of the pushers. Some layers do double duty as they also provide support for the sliders and block them in their respective outer positions.

Next is the challenge of an AND gate with this design ;)
    • Aleric
@Sunny Sunset I'm afraid you have to read all comments in order to understand what this is about.
    • Rohan Kumar
@Sunny Sunset They are there for sake of doing what the challenge says, they are not meant to be playable, but ideas could be used for further applications into playable levels.
    • Rohan Kumar
@Aleric I should have patented this idea :oops::p

This type of thread needs to be in the forum, not in the new levels section. This area is for PLAYABLE LEVELS ONLY. Please take discussions of non-playable levels to the forum pages.
      Thanks

Do not add anything more to this, I will be deleting this thread once everyone currently in it has had a chance to read it.
    • Aleric
@Sunny Sunset I hope you won't do that, deleting all the hard work that went into this thread will greatly upset me...
    • Aleric
I had a look at the forum, and there is not a suitable place to challenge other users to make a mekorama design that achieves something, and then have a discussion about that. There is "general", "getting help", "bugs and feature requests".... where is "design challenges and technical discussions"?

If you insist on moving this thread, then please move it to the forum to appropriate place, so we can continue there and add new topic in the future.

If you just bluntly delete this thread then I feel this wasn't the nice place I thought it was and will move on :( :(
    • Sunny Sunset
I think the best place for it comes under "Level Help". Because that's what you're looking for: help with design, help with a challenge, all based on specific levels.

      Make your own thread.

But this section is not for anything but playable levels.
