I absolutely agree with you! I also think that you get much more pleasure from a level if the level has a nice design and it’s nice to be at the level. I really love the levels where it’s very nice to just walk around, look, and enjoy the meko world that the author carefully and with great love created (and as a rule, it doesn’t matter what the gameplay is, it’s preferable that it’s a classic without tricks).
