Unfortunately the layers don't appear to have any way to control them. They just spin randomly after release. The ball disappears into the third layer and with all the spinning I have no clue which layer it is on so it is just a crap shoot after that...

There's a key to which way round you need them

If you hold them in one position for long enough they stay there, takes a bit of practice and once you know the key it's much easier.

line up all the squares on one side till the ball drops to the bottom, then flip the whole thing upside down and use the locking bar to hold it upside down and then line up the circles.

@Twisted Vegan - I'm not sure why you'd give the solution without one asking for it? You should spoiler your comment so those who want to play will not stumble upon the solution by mistake. I'd also make the spoiler say 'Solution', like this
      .
so those looking for the way will see it.

As for holding for 'long enough', I retried and counted to 20 and everything spun back. Tried a few other layers - same thing so I had enough.

@Meko Guy I can't work out how to mark part of a comment as a spoiler. But even when you know how the layers are supposed to line up it's still pretty tricky.

I couldn't find a way to make the layers rotate tidily without using motors unfortunately.

I have completed it a few times myself but it takes patience and perseverance, and having the advantage of knowing how it's supposed to work.

It's a shame there isn't a rotating part we can use instead of the motors as it would work a lot better in this design. I'll probably make a better version when I find a way to do it.
