Looks like a one move level......
    • punctdan
@gmacpro This one requires two minimum.

I want to make a spoiler but how do you do it in a comment hidden?

Edit: Nvm, I just figured out how to add a spoiler button.

      1. Keep moving the slider quickly between both ends until it goes off.
      2. Move B somewhere on the platform while the mechanism B is on is rattling.
      3. If B falls on the stone floor, move B to the win. If not, restart the level.

Very unstable move - B finally fell right on the 5th attempt so that makes the level 20% stable for me which isn't very good. Of course, you could have had a larger base to increase the percentage to 90% or 100%. Like I said on your last level "Quality is better than quantity" and "I look forward to your next stable level"

Edit - Thanks for the hint/walk thru as I was trying to auto pilot or that affect.

@gmacpro Thanks for the feedback. I thought about making larger base but I found it out less challenging for a simple level like this.
    • gmacpro
@punctdan - 'challenging' - is this the right word? In this level, one has no control of a falling B nor when B is going to fall....

@gmacpro You could say there is no control of falling. It's just luck and luck can be challenging if you depend on it. If I make a larger base, there is no luck required hence it's less challenging. I don't know where you're going with this...

@punctdan If I may ... I think @gmacpro is making the argument that "challenging" designs are tests of a skill of some kind, puzzle solving logic, dexterity, precision, knowledge of how to exploit game behaviour, etc. In contrast, this level is obvious and simply random ... upon making an obvious move, you either fall In the right place (lucky) or you do not (unlucky). Skill does not seem to play a part in the outcome. Now, if it were possible to make the same move and win every time (better stability), that would indicate that skill is, in fact, required.

My thinking is you stumbled across the move that you used in this level and wanted to show people the move/trick. My thinking again, you lost focus on the move and moved it to the win as you knew the move and it's pretty easy as @delator77 said, so you made a narrow base so players who figured out the move may not win easily. The whole point of the level was to show the discovered move not to make players miss the win.

Okay. First of all, I am not a native speaker of English. So I'm sorry if I misunderstand things.

This is what I understand from your reply. You got that @gmacpro basically says this level needs stability in order to be qualified as challenging. There is an obvious move and luck which requires no skill or whatsoever.

To me, the move is only obvious as long as you have the knowledge (about the trick) which is a part of the skill.

      @gmacpro
Yes, it was meant to show people the trick. I found the trick by accident while designing another level and it got me thinking making a separate level based on it. Although, I suspect it could have been shown several times, I wanted to give it a try.

Unseemly? Could you open that in detail?

About the link, I don't know a lot about "ghost blocking" and I am not sure why you're suggesting it over this one. It seems a very different concept than this and I didn't even know ghost blocks were a thing. I just played that one but I got stuck at first attempt since I couldn't move the ghost blocks anymore. It's a pretty great concept nonetheless, I believe I can finish it if I'll be careful with dragging ghost blocks. While we're talking about it, this one feels a little bit unseemly to me as well because of the ghost block trick but it's just my opinion.
    • Don G Rowe
@punctdan "Unseemly" means "not natural", or "forced". In other words, if I need to drop B down more than 2 or 3 block levels, there are much more natural ways to do it.

The game phenomenon that frees your slider from the rail is the same one that makes Hidden Village possible. More than what you can see is possible, Grasshopper. ;)
