You can always try doing a remake of an original level. Here's a thread on just remaking the first level.

I usually face problem opposite to that of yours. I mean i always seem to find different ideas to make a level even before i have completed making an existing level. Here are few of the reasons for that

    1. I stumble upon some bugs while making a level and try to use that bug as a main resource for making a new level.
    2. I play others level to get a basic ideology of what kind of level are currently prevailing in the media and what difference can i add in it. (Usually I concentrate more in designing and play very less number of levels)
    3. I am a great movie lover. Hence most of my levels have been inspired by them.
    4. Most of the time my levels have back story with them. Everyone like stories and likewise everyone have a complex idea of a story that only they have access to in their mind. Trying to bring that back story and converting them into a level has really helped me to design levels and never run out of ideas.
    5. Finally I have a 'Circus' level in my media where i put few tricks together to find the result. I put all my new ideas in a single level, and all those ideas when come together gives a new idea or view on how to use those tricks. However it is only for my viewing as there is nothing in it other than a lot of tricks put together.

hope i was able to provide some assistance. :D:D:D

You can use the daily products as a reference to build your levels.

I always like designing homes and buildings, mostly gardens in my creations. I don't share them though because they have no "game play". Still, it is incredibly fun! This is one of them:

That is exactly the type of card that should be shared in the Level Art thread.

Here are a few ideas.. :p

    1. Pick one class of activity and feature as much of it as possible in one level at a time, eg: ball work by R, or claustrophobia, or pushable assemblies, etc.
Examples: Coast by @PvB (all about autopilot)

    2. See if you can define a Mekorama haiku.
    For example ..
"3 x (standard manoeuvres) plus 3 x (tricks) in the smallest space"
    .. or ..
"One each x (defined set of manoeuvres & tricks) in a fixed 3D space (or a fixed footprint and minimum height)"
    .. or .. ?

    3. Deliberately design multiple non-trivial solutions into a single puzzle, where the player's objective is to find and win as many of them as possible. You have to specify up front how many intended solutions you've designed, and provide full video coverage for each win. If anyone finds any unintended solutions, then you have to grade them and award stars.

    Some ideas are:

    1. Look around your house. There should be something that you can use that in level :p

    2. When i have no idea what to make then i play some very old levels.

    3. Original 50 will also help in making levels. Example: Some maze, some code level,Golf etc :)
