I recently played a level and got stuck right near the end. It inspired me to think about a "Cheat Mode" for Mekorama. Once activated (not sure how yet) then B can be moved to any block in the game, just by tapping on it. This will enable you to skip parts of a level you don't want to replay.

There's just one caveat: You can only move B once. After that you will have to play the game as normal.

If there is no B, then perhaps you can select a bot R or L and move that instead.

Not sure how this would be implemented but I've often thought of adding one or more cards in the comments section with B repositioned to just after a difficult section. Would possibly be useful if zapped.

A good idea! Would be great for very long levels where you have to start all over again.

Exactly! Like the one below. How do you think it could be implemented?

As designer you can post an amended card for the benefit of others.
As a player I can amend a card using MekoStudio, if no Blue Bots in level.
I've amended this card to cut out the long run assuming I've been zapped. This means I can practice avoiding the bots and go back to the beginning using the original card once I've mastered the technique. Alternatively I can cheat and carry on to the finish using the amended card.

The author would need to do a second version of the level and post it in the comments.

Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you were referring to a new feature of Mekorama, rather than a currently possible addition. I like the idea though, and I will use it in future.

I wanted this to be in Mekorama 2. But then users are saying you can do a similar thing now using amended cards.

The concept is very similar to build and test. Work on a section of a level then replicate the card creating a backup of progress that works. To shorten testing of each stage reposition B to skip the section you know already works then when happy with that section retest beginning to end. This is Ok as long as there is no dependency from the earlier stage in which case you DO need to start from the beginning. For example you may have filled an empty block in stage 1 with a ball drop but it isn't used until stage 2. This restriction would also apply to cheat cards.

Some designers already offer alternative cards of a level.

I seem to recall reading somewhere on the forum that Mekorama is no longer being developed and is in maintenance only mode. Perhaps @cimarronline could advise?

@MekoMole Mekorama is still being developed. The latest work was on the web version of the game, which can be used now with a click from the forum.

Thank you @cimarronline for such a speedy reply. I am obviously confused, a sure sign of advancing years. Sorry to have troubled you.
Best wishes to you and your family for the festive season.

This is what I do when testing a level. I will move B to the start of a section I've added and play it from there. If a ball is needed from an earlier section I can just add it manually to fill a hole.

I often put B back at the start so I can replay the whole level again. In fact it's essential to spot any shortcuts or errors the player might see.
