B (without an eye) does not understand how to stand on the stairs at the start. He hangs in the air. He doesn't see the stairs, but he sees the block under the stairs. Therefore, he can leave the stairs in ANY DIRECTION at the start!

I've noticed this before. This is a pretty funny demo of it. :rotf::rotf:

Strange. After I waited for a minute B's legs stopped moving.

By the way, did your win involve a MAT?

Based on this idea you can make Headless B do a wedge climb. mekorama (147).png

Yes Yes Yes!! You understood me absolutely correctly. B without an eye does not see the stairs after starting for a while. Therefore, he sees the block that is below! In your demo, this is also a ladder, but lower. Nice demo!;)

You can get the same effect with B (with an eye) by starting him one block or more up in the air, so he falls onto a stair at the start. When he lands he drops down briefly and behaves like he is standing on the block below. You have to tap just as B lands.

@cimarronline - do you know if this trick has a standard name? It seems like a type of squat drop if I had to guess.

Unfortunately, I don't know what it's called either. But I understand the physical principle behind this trick. The location of BODY B is very important! When B's body is below its normal position, it sees a road that is DOWN by one floor.

When B falls onto a block from a height, he crouches under his body weight. If we catch the right time when B is crouched - he goes down one floor.

You are absolutely right - the squat has the same physical principle!
I'm sure you'll like my demo card.

Nice demos. I had started to build a level once using this idea. I wonder if I can find it to finish it.

A very interesting level. I've never done this trick before, but I figured it out intuitively. It looks like MAT to me.

I agree that the step up from the ball and the step up from the wedge like like types of MAT. The move on the perpendicular stairs appears to be a type of SSS, but I didn't realize you could SSS up stairs.
