Tutorial 1

This is not a challenge, it's an exercise to illustrate new tricks for beginners to advance their skills!

Tutorial 1

This model is aimed at helping mekorama enthusiasts progress from beginner to advanced level.

      For more tutorials, see here.

It includes several lessons, but first notice a number of challenges: there are no stairs for B to mount the elevator; the elevator doesn't go all the way to the top (it stops one block below the target block's level); and even if it did reach a block higher, there is no walkable path for B to reach the target.

      Lesson 1 - B is claustrophobic in 2-block high spaces .
Raise the elevator, and send B directly under any block of the elevator platform. Try different starting/ending positions. Notice how he will go where you send him, but can't bear to stay under the low ceiling, and will take a step or two to find fresh air!

Lesson 2 - Who needs stairs?
Send B to stand next to the brick block (distance gives you time to work before he gets too close), and raise the elevator fully. Tap directly under any block of the elevator platform, and quickly lower the platform before he gets there. Notice how he climbs the platform to reach where you tapped, but then "falls off"! In fact he's trying to follow the same path that he would have before you put the elevator in his way - including even to the extent of his claustrophobic attack! To stop him from falling off, simply tap again somewhere on the platform - once he's on the platform. This will reset his trip navigator, and prevent his claustrophobic attack.

Lesson 3 - B can go where angels fear to tread.
Once B is on the elevator, send him to the half pillar block at the far end of the elevator (distance is your friend here, again). Tap the block underneath the target block (the brick block)... but quickly raise the elevator before B steps off onto the grass. Make sure your raise it as far as it will go. Notice how B climbs the one block height without steps, and then walks across a surface that he normally wouldn't be able to. Again, his trip navigator is trying to get him to where you set his destination, and in the end, he reaches the target block!

      Summary
This autopilot trick (of setting a destination and then interfering with the route in some way) is the key to several exploits. But we'll look at those later with other models. Meantime, review how we have exploited it here: to climb where there are no steps; and to travel on hostile terrain.

@Sorella M. - you found it before i could tell you about it! Well done :) ... If you find it useful then i will certainly make some more.

Nice tutorial (although I already knew the tricks)! I think the Clausthrobic effect is meant for him to go through doorways, and especially tight, blocked corridors where you don't know where the exit is. Also, I'm fairly sure that @Sunny Sunset will ask you to delete this thread and recreate it in another subforum/create your next ones in another subforum (probably to Level Help). Just giving you a heads up. Also, I can't scan the QR Code.

Climbing Trick and Focus Trick...what's next?
    • GtB
      @Frenzies It's a level that can be solved. What's the problem? :)

@GtB Well, I didn't say I was 100% sure, but this is also more of a tutorial than a level. You could easily put a Win Block beside the B-Bot in any level and it would count, in that definition, as a proper level. Since this is actually a tutorial, I myself think (and I don't usually) that it should be in the Level Help subforum.

@Frenzies didn't have any problem to scan the QR-Code and I think, that card could go as a normal level, its a lot of text and hard to read by accident. Probably the tutorialtext needs to hide behind a spoilersign to get you happy again?
    • Frenzies
@Sorella M. I'm actually okay with this. It's obvious that it's a tutorial, etc., but it isn't really clear where it belongs. Let's just wait for @Sunny Sunset herself to see the stage and see what happens. I don't want to assume/predict the future. As for the QR Code, I solved it by cropping the image but it's a hassle for me to crop images all the time. I recommend @trids to upload share versions of the card next time, since the checkmark isn't exactly needed for a tutorial (unless they say it's impossible even with the exploits explained), and @Sunny Sunset doesn't allow cropped images .

To my opinion if this card had be named something as "hop to heaven" or so with no tutorialtext in the comments, this puzzle would go as any other small level. For me as a miniadvanced beginner it would be impossible to solve it in minutes (as some other levels) so I wouldn't claim it as to small or to easy to be worth to be a normal level. The only aspect is the open tutorialtext.

Could it be, that the critic is based on another background - something of getting stars or likes? Would make me sad :(
