I just did a ToA versus using your provided hint and I missed the pillar section completely. I retried after winning and B missed the pillar section 3 times. The rest was very straight forward and as Z progressed around, I was wonder what will happen at the end and it wasn't anything special. Nice design and thanks for sharing.
