Finger Soccer

Two teams, one referee. Who scores the first goal? Which finger wins? Difficult questions when playing one on one on the same device. Will the teams exchange jerseys after the match?

Welcome to the forum. I gave your level a go and it was interesting. My B is no good at soccer but this level was easily won as B didn't need to do anything. Thanks for sharing.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Because the players are free draggables, this game of soccer can be won without the ball.

@gmacpro Thanks. Yes, this level tries to be a charming level not a difficult one. The R Teams are so cute in their naive determination, I couldn't resist uploading.

@Don G Rowe Thanks as well. Yes, this level is overstretching any serious soccer rules, which I do not know too much anyways. There is also a certain trick shot taking advantage of the specific gate design.

The wind in the hair … while playing:

Comparing design time (including level card) with run time indicates some rotation of certain rail elements when attached to bots. The video shows that this rotation seems to be related to the inital bot alignment itself:

The bots facing left keep their hair uncombed and also no wind is ruffling their hair. Bots looking backwards get an hairstyle turned by 90 degrees to the right. The two other bots get each additional 90 degrees hair rotation. At the end the 4 bots in each quadrant have the same hair style and could constitute a band for storming the charts - as: The Botles. (Band name not yet approved by their label manager.)

For the retrospective of this level I wanted to capture a header goal but didn't succeed. For me it seems only possible to turn around the draggable bots franticly in more or less the same plane (dragging increases their kinetic energy). Without any suitable lever it does not seem possible to lift or lower the draggable bots much (influecing their potential energy). With a suitable lever (another player, gate, or fence of the playing field) it is possible to change the height of the draggables (used in many levels). The draggables in this level are not completely free since they are attached to bots which constantly want to stand up, when they are 'touched' down. Achieving **** goals - on the opposite - is possible (taking advantage of the gate as 'lever'). But the producer considered this being too offensive to the public and got the director to cut out this scene. No Video, only insights. Maybe the deeper reason is just the way the screen input (finger touching the 2d screen) is interpreted: always as movement in the plane. Would be interesting to see the VR version of Mekorama!

The offset of attachables to bots might be described in some rule like: the number of right turns the bot is looking away from the z axis (as displayed for a given level in MekoStudio) equals the number of right turns the attachable is being rotated at switching from design to run time (switching from level builder or level card to playing the level).

After some additional training the red team won by header:

New kind of goal celebration was observed after the recent header goal. The scorer ate its right leg and feet and did some dervish dance on the remaining leg. Since the match already has ended and the celebration was outside the field the referee couldn't do anything but joining.

Days after the **** goal incident an unauthorized fan video appeared on the Internet:

Closing remark for the retrospective of this level: it might take only minutes to create a 'First' level, but it can take weeks to comprehensively play and understand it.

The rotational offset is nothing new, I found this old thread about the topic. At least, I can say that the effect is stable over the years. :)
