ClassicL Gas

After the clutter of my last level, I just wanted to get back to the basics of the original 50, something clean and simple. (no tricks needed)

      (Yes, @Don G Rowe , I wanted to do a squeeze because of your level "Path Maker")
      "Classical Gas" (originally titled "Classical Gasoline" until some copyist inadvertently shortened it) is an instrumental masterpiece from songwriter Mason Williams from his 1968 album "The Mason Williams Phonographic Record" (how's that for old?). It's one of the best known instrumentals in the world, winning at least 3 Grammys, and has been redone by many people.Williams was a songwriter for the old Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, and his protoge was comedian / actor / banjo player Steve Martin.

      I think I may have done the intended way, more or less. I did use most things, and no awkward moves like in @Shroomir 's video.
      Nice little puzzle, but I do prefer your usual style with all the fun, ;):rotf:.

      I had troubles getting started as the options were many - after a little logic and working the path - all came together. Thanks for sharing

      Very good puzzle. It took me a while to figure out how P and R must contribute to the solution.

      @Shroomir You definitely did it the hard way, and not the intended way. Here's an updated version (one block changed) which prevents your move.

      I enjoy this one, I use everything to win so it's definitely the intended way.:cool:

      @D.S.Masters "how's that for old?"
      Well, I have this record (vinyl of course) in my ... stash here.
      Hated the production/recording technique from the start: every section in its tiny little sound box, super panpot-ed. Like they all did at the time. " stereo!" , yeah sure.

      Best version of that (great, no argument here) tune: Eric Clapton on nylon (strings) guitar. Solo.

      Pushing everyone's patience here:

      True stereo is very rare in non-"classical" recordings. Want to hear TRUE stereo? Listen to a small ensemble, baroque let's say. May I suggest L'Arpeggiata "Music for a while" (surprise at the end).

      These recordings are made with a pair of mikes mostly. Not single mikes pan potted (directed monophony). True stereo.

      OK, end of out of topic ranting. But it' s all Mister Masters fault with his references to those tunes.....
